Police are investigating whether someone intentionally started a fire that charred three vehicles in a church parking lot in Costa Mesa, authorities said.

The blaze was reported at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Family Christian Church at 792 Victoria St., said Costa Mesa police Lt. Greg Scott.

A Dodge Caravan was on fire when firefighters arrived on the scene, and the flames quickly spread to two other vehicles, Scott said.

No one was injured, said Costa Mesa fire Capt. Chris Coates.

Coates said the fire did not appear related to a blaze Monday morning that destroyed three cars in a parking lot outside a Costa Mesa apartment complex.
