Four people were arrested in connection with at least two in a series of three burglaries reported early Thursday at businesses in Costa Mesa, authorities said.

The first burglary was reported at 2:38 a.m. at a Canon Solutions America store at 123 E. Paularino Ave., Costa Mesa police Sgt. Dan Miles said.

The person who reported the burglary monitored it on surveillance video, Miles said. The burglars fled before police arrived.

Miles said the front door of the store had been smashed with a rock and several display cases had been destroyed.

Several cameras were stolen. The exact value of the property was unknown, Miles said.

The second burglary was reported at 3:23 a.m. at a Starbucks at 1696 Newport Blvd., Miles said.

A witness told police that burglars broke into the closed coffee shop and fled north on Newport in a white SUV, Miles said. Police were investigating whether anything was stolen.

Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description.

Tyana Shawnte Hogan, 22, Dalvin Jerome Merritt, 19, Tony Kyuane McKibbins, 18, and Deante Cortez Fields, 19, all of Los Angeles, were arrested on suspicion of burglarizing the Starbucks, Miles said.

They also are suspected in a burglary at a Chick-fil-A restaurant at 3181 Harbor Blvd., Miles said.

Employees arriving to work called police at 4:59 a.m. after finding that the front doors had been shattered sometime earlier, Miles said.

Personal items including a suitcase and paperwork were reported missing, Miles said.

All the burglaries are still under investigation, Miles said.
