Pretend City’s ‘When I Grow Up Day’ offers kids a taste of careers

Children will get the chance to be whatever they set their mind to on Thursday at Pretend City Children’s Museum’s seventh annual “When I Grow Up Day.”

The Irvine museum’s event will welcome families to meet with more than two dozen Orange County professionals from different career fields.

Last year, children got to dance with a ballerina and watch a zookeeper hold an African millipede.

The Pretend City parking lot will have a firetruck, a police motorcycle, an ambulance, a trash truck and other vehicles for children to explore.

When I Grow Up Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pretend City is at 29 Hubble.
