Gunman robs Domino’s and hits employee in Huntington Beach

A robber bashed an employee over the head with a gun at a Domino’s Pizza location in Huntington Beach and made off with cash from the safe late Wednesday, according to police.

Huntington Beach officers responded to reports of a robbery at 11:21 p.m. at the Domino’s at 17421 Beach Blvd.

Police said the employee was alone in the restaurant and getting ready to close when a heavy-set man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered and pulled out a handgun.

The man broke into the safe and hit the employee on the head with the gun before fleeing, according to police.

The employee’s condition wasn’t available, police said.

The amount of money stolen was not immediately known, police said.
