Summer concerts at Newport Beach Civic Center begin Sunday

The Newport Beach Arts Commission on Sunday will present the Hollywood Stones, a Rolling Stones tribute band, for the first in a series of four free summer concerts on the Civic Center lawn.

“Dick Swagger, along with band members Keef Riffoff, Rick Taylor, Will Hyman and Harley Watts, have worked closely together for over a dozen years and performed at the Hollywood Palladium, House of Blues and a host of other venues throughout the country,” a concert announcement states.

Sunday’s show will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30.

The other concerts in the series are:

Aug. 14: Pacific Symphony (Musical Playground activities for children at 5:30 p.m. and the concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m.)

Aug. 21: Rumours (Fleetwood Mac tribute), 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 11: The Springsteen Experience (Bruce Springsteen tribute), 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Concert-goers are allowed to bring a picnic, blankets and low-slung beach chairs. Food trucks also will be serving. Alcohol is prohibited.
