Two masked men with handguns made off with cellphones and several hundred dollars in cash from a Huntington Beach hair salon Tuesday night, police said.

Huntington Beach police received a call at 10:17 p.m. from Zie Beauty, a salon and supply store at 17316 Beach Blvd., reporting that a robbery had just occurred, said Officer Jennifer Marlatt, spokeswoman for the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Witnesses said two men wearing masks entered the salon with guns and demanded cash and cellphones from employees and a customer, Marlatt said. The men fled in a gold-colored sedan, she said.

No one was injured.

Witnesses described one of the men as in his 20s or 30s, about 6 feet tall, wearing a dark sweatshirt and other dark clothing.

The other man was described as 5-foot-1 to 5-foot-9 and wearing dark clothing.

The shop’s surveillance system wasn’t working at the time, Marlatt said.
