Junior Will O’Connor had a goal and an assist, helping the Sea Kings clinch the outright Pacific Coast League title on Tuesday.

Sophomore Kyle Mabwa scored first for CdM (16-2-1, 8-1 in league) on an assist from sophomore Kyle Phan.

Senior Spencer Lamoure also scored.

Goalie Christopher Bartolic helped the Sea Kings earn their 11th shutout.

Corona del Mar closes out the regular season at home against Irvine on Thursday.

The host Eagles improved to 5-2-2 in the Orange Coast League and moved into second place on Tuesday.

Estancia closes out league play at league champion Godinez at Santa Ana Sports Complex on Thursday at 5 p.m.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

IRVINE — Kat Hess made six saves for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League game at Meadowood Park.

CdM fell to 8-7-7, and 3-3-3 in league. The Sea Kings are tied for third place in league with University (4-4-1 in league), but own the head-to-head tiebreaker. CdM can clinch the league’s third and final automatic CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoff berth, by winning at last-place Irvine on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the league finale.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Godinez 52,

Costa Mesa 48

Senior Center Mason Tufuga scored 11 points for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game on Tuesday.

Senior guard Chris Calderon added 10 points and Calvin Ko scored eight points for Costa Mesa (15-12, 7-2 in league), which fell into second place in league, one game back of Laguna Beach.

The Mustangs close out the regular season at home against Saddleback Thursday at 7 p.m., senior night.

Marina 50,

Newport Harbor 39

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Collin Pipkin finished with 12 points for the Sailors, who dropped to third place in the Sunset League on Tuesday.

Newport Harbor (20-7, 5-4 in league) is one game back of Edison, which moved into sole possession of second place with a 76-57 win against Fountain Valley.

The Sailors close out league play at home against Edison on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Sage Hill 82,

Brethren Christian 40

Chance Kuehnel scored 23 points to lead the Lightning in the Academy League game on Tuesday.

Dominic Sadeghi added 17 points and Greg Park hit five three-pointers for 15 points for Sage Hill (16-7, 8-3 in league).

Laguna Beach 71,

Estancia 31

Evan Pettingill scored 10 points to lead the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game on Tuesday.

Eric Carrasco added six points for Estancia (11-16, 1-8 in league).

The Eagles play at Godinez on Thursday.

Heather Park scored 15 points to lead the Lightning in the Academy League game on Tuesday.

Kate Knollenberg added 10 points for Sage Hill (16-6, 9-2 in league).

IRVINE — Senior Bridgett Storm and freshman Layne Anzaldo each scored four goals for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League game at Northwood High.

Jaleh Moaddeli had three goals for CdM (18-8, 9-0 in league), while Abigail Klein, Emily Ritner, Chloe Harbilas and Heidi Ritner scored one each. Ritner made six saves in goal, and Erin Tharp had seven.

Corona del Mar, the league champion, closes out league play and the regular season at Irvine on Thursday.
