SANTA ANA — The Eagles will share the league title with Laguna Beach after winning their Orange Coast League finale Wednesday at Godinez High.

Finley Garnett had 17 points for Estancia (19-7, 9-1 in league). Maddy Letterman scored eight, and Nefertiti Van Den Heever had seven points and seven steals.

The CIF playoff brackets will be released Sunday.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Costa Mesa 12, Saddleback 4

SANTA ANA — The Mustangs clinched second place in the Orange Coast League with the victory Wednesday at Saddleback High.

Freshman Sofia Rice had four goals to lead Costa Mesa (14-12, 3-1 in league). Brenna Alvis scored twice, while Alessia Vitiello, Kendra Ferguson and Tia Gordon scored once each. Coach Dustin Serrano highlighted the defensive play of Ferguson and Gordon.

Michelle Vu had 11 saves for the Mustangs, who have won six straight games. They await the release of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoff brackets on Saturday.

Godinez 5, Estancia 4

Hayley Hopp and Katelyn Chesemore each had two goals for the Eagles in Wednesday’s Orange Coast League game.

Hanna Smith made 12 saves for the Eagles, who finished the season 7-16, 0-4 in league.
