RIVERSIDE — Katharine Caston and Megan Chelf scored for the Sea Kings in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs Tuesday on the road.

Top-seeded CdM improved to 22-0-3.

The Sea Kings, who have registered six straight shutouts, play host to La Mirada in the quarterfinals on Friday.

WHITTIER — The Breakers registered a win in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs Tuesday on the road.

No. 2-seeded Laguna Beach (19-2-2) plays host to Bloomington in the quarterfinals on Friday.

San Gabriel Mission 1, Pacifica Christian 0

The Tritons fell to the top seed in the second round of the CIF Southern Section 7 playoffs Tuesday at Vanguard University.

Pacifica Christian finishes its season 17-3.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Pacifica Christian 79, Cate 62

CARPINTERIA — Freshman point guard Dominick Harris finished with 43 points and 11 rebounds, leading the No. 2-seeded Tritons in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs on the road Tuesday.

Pacifica Christian (22-3) plays host to No. 3 Ventura Foothill Tech (23-5) in the semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m. Foothill Tech advanced with a 63-40 win against Acton Vasquez on Tuesday.

Josh Sims had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Tritons, while Timmy Bahadoor, Primo Belfiore and Isaiah Seward played strong defense.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Paso Robles 1, Estancia 1

Rafael Espinoza scored in the first five minutes of regulation for the host Eagles, who lost in penalty kicks, 11-10, in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs on Monday.

Paso Robles (18-6-1), a third-place team from the PAC-8 League, tied the match at 1-1 in the 65th minute.

With the contest even at the end of regulation, the two sides played two scoreless overtime periods. Penalties decided who advanced to the second round to play Burbank Burroughs (18-4-4) on Wednesday.

Charlie Segura assisted on Espinoza’s goal.

The Eagles, the runner-up finisher from the Orange Coast League, finished the season 12-9-1 overall.
