CdM stuns Mater Dei in boys’ water polo

Mitchell Cooper scored the winning goal in sudden-death overtime as the Sea Kings stunned the No. 2-seeded defending champion Monarchs in a South Coast Tournament quarterfinal Friday at CdM.

Cooper had two goals in the game for CdM. Henry Wilde and Tamir Avital also scored twice for the Sea Kings, with TJ Morton, Will Rodosky and Will Ueberroth adding single goals.

CdM (4-1) will play No. 3-seeded Huntington Beach in the tournament semifinals Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
