PHILADELPHIA — A night after clinching a spot in the World Team Tennis finals, the Orange County Breakers saw their seven-match winning streak snapped by the Philadelphia Freedoms on Friday night at Villanova University.

The Freedoms beat the Breakers, 21-18. Orange County (8-3) earned its only two set wins in women’s singles, in which Nicole Gibbs beat CoCo Vandeweghe, 5-3, and in women’s doubles, in which Gibbs and Alla Kudryvtseva topped Vandeweghe and Naomi Broady, 5-3.

The Breakers learned Friday that they will play the San Diego Aviators in the WTT final Aug. 26 in New York. The Southern California rivals split four matches this season and San Diego holds the tie-breaker.
