Zach Allmon scored 28 points for the Lions in their Golden State Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday.

Malachi Hoosein added 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Vanguard (8-0, 1-0 in conference).

San Diego Christian fell to 3-6, 0-1.

Arizona 79, UC Irvine 57

TUCSON, Ariz. — Jaron Martin scored 12 points to lead the Anteaters in the nonconference game on Tuesday.

Max Hazzard scored 10 points for UCI (4-5), which plays host to Pomona-Pitzer Friday at 7 p.m.

Arizona, ranked No. 20, improved to 7-2.

Claire Lamunu led four players in double figures with 16 points to go with 14 rebounds for the Lions in their Golden State Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday.

Maya Kennedy added 15 points, Victoria Chea scored 13 points and Hanna Tabron finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
