Pirates duo All-Americans

Orange Coast College sophomores Alyssa Allen and Danny Dominguez have earned All-American honors in cross country.

Allen gained the distinction by finishing ninth at the California Community College Athletic Assn. women’s state meet on Nov. 19 at Woodward Park in Fresno. She completed the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 37.4 seconds.

Dominguez was 11th in the men’s state final, also at Woodward Park. He completed the four-mile course in 20:41.7.

OCC sophomore Galyn Nash was 29th in 21:07.2 and sophomore teammate Oscar Salas was 41st in 21:20.2 to help the OCC men finish eighth as a team.

The OCC women were 15th in the team standings at the state meet.
