Three hurt, one seriously, in three-car crash in Huntington Beach

One person suffered major injuries and two were moderately injured in a three-car crash in Huntington Beach on Friday, authorities said.

Police responded to the intersection of Newland Street and Talbert Avenue about 11:45 p.m., according to Huntington Beach police.

One of the cars was headed south on Newland when it collided with a car heading west on Talbert, police said.

The two vehicles then crashed into another nearby car that was stopped at a red light, police said.

One of the drivers was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment of major injuries, police said. The driver’s condition was not known by police Monday morning.

A driver and passenger from a different car were taken to local hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries.

Police said the driver who was stopped at the red light was not injured.

Alcohol did not play a role in the crash and no one was arrested, police said.
