Two men were arrested this week on suspicion of burglarizing a Mexican food restaurant and a Jamba Juice in Fountain Valley, police said.

A Fountain Valley police officer was on patrol around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday in a strip mall at 18010 Newhope St. when he saw a vehicle with its lights off parked near Cancun Fresh Mexican Grill. A man was sitting inside the car, according to police.

Moments later, a burglary alarm at the restaurant sounded and another man tried to flee the business before both men were taken into custody, police said.

Investigators learned that a Jamba Juice location at 18511 Brookhurst St. had been burglarized earlier that night. Security footage from Jamba Juice tied both men to that burglary, police said.

Miguel Angel Munozmerino, 28, of Garden Grove was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. There also was a warrant for his arrest stemming from charges of unlawful sexual intercourse and committing a lewd act on a child that were filed against him in Orange County Superior Court in 2016, according to police and court records.

Jose Daniel Vazquez, 28, also of Garden Grove, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of stolen property.

Munozmerino, a cook, and Vazquez, a laborer, were booked into Orange County Jail, records show.
