Body found off Huntington Beach identified as missing swimmer
A body discovered in the ocean off Huntington Beach on Friday has been identified as an 18-year-old man who went missing swimming off Bolsa Chica State Beach six days earlier.
Orange County coroner’s officials identified the body as Shawn Lim, 18, of Long Beach. Lim’s cause of death has not been released.
Lim’s body was pulled from the water Friday morning after a couple who were walking along the beach near 11th Street spotted it on a sandbar about 10 feet from the shore, lifeguards said.

Lim had been reported missing Feb. 25 after he entered the water near Tower 21 at Bolsa Chica State Beach. A witness saw Lim go into the water, but did not see him return to the surface, Coast Guard officials said at the time.
The Coast Guard searched 120 square nautical miles for 15 hours for Lim without success before suspending the search a day later.
