Visit Laguna CEO stepping down

The president and chief executive of Visit Laguna Beach is stepping down after nine years at the helm of the nonprofit dedicated to promoting the city.

Judith Bijlani will end her tenure Jan. 24 to “pursue other opportunities, including travel writing and consulting,” according to a news release.

“It has been my pleasure to work closely with Judy over the years,” Karyn Philippsen, chairwoman of the board of directors for Visit Laguna Beach, said in the release. “We will miss her passion, dedication and devotion to this organization.”

The board plans to host a reception in Bijlani’s honor from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Jan. 24 at 15fiftyfive, at the Surf & Sand Resort.
