Little Patriots Take a Hike
The Environmental Nature Center of Newport Beach hosts a pre-Fourth of July hike for children ages 3 to 5, where they will go looking for things in nature colored red, white or blue. The hike is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the ENC, 1601 16th St. Cost is $6 for non-members and $5 for members. 'The Taming of the Shrew'

Independence Day Family Celebration
The city of Newport Beach and Mariners Elementary School are co-hosting the 40th annual Independence Day Family Celebration at Mariners Park, 1300 Irvine Ave. The event kicks off with a bike parade at 10:30 a.m.
