Share

The Monday Night Football game, Kansas City at Pittsburgh, will have some local flavor.

Laird Hayes, a Newport Beach resident and retired Orange Coast College professor, will be the side judge with the officiating crew at Heinz Field.

Also, Kansas City includes kicker Ryan Succop, who was Mr. Irrelevant in 2009, when he was the final pick of the NFL Draft.

Mr. Irrelevant is roasted and celebrated during Irrelevant Week based in Newport Beach and at parties in Orange County.

Hayes is in his 18th season and has worked in three Super Bowls, including last season when the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots.
