Event nets more than $250,000 for victims of abuse

A fundraiser in Costa Mesa last week highlighted by celebrity guest speaker Dr. Drew Pinsky netted more than $250,000 to help victims of domestic violence.

More than 550 attendees came to the Human Options luncheon Oct. 17 at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel.

The funds will help Human Options' programs for abused women, their children and families, according to a news release.

The Irvine-based nonprofit is in its 32nd year. It serves more than 20,000 people annually.
