Balboa Bay Club shines light on holidays with tree ceremony
The Balboa Bay Club kicked off its celebration of the holiday season Monday night with its annual tree-lighting ceremony.
Artificial snow fell as Newport Beach families and special guest Santa Claus watched the Balboa Bay Club and adjacent resort come to life with thousands of twinkling lights and holiday decorations.
The highlight of the event was the 20-foot Christmas tree adorned with red and gold ornaments.
Visitors were asked to donate a gift for the Toys for Tots program.
