Corona del Mar def. Northwood

IRVINE — Augie Miller led a balanced attack with 13 kills and two blocks as the Sea Kings completed an undefeated Pacific Coast League campaign Tuesday at Northwood.

Ryan Moss had 10 kills for CdM (23-2, 10-0 in league), and Tommy Brooks added nine kills and two blocks. Kevin Fults had eight kills, and Joey Martino tallied seven.

Tommy Casey had 12 digs and Matt Ctvrtlik dished out 29 assists for the Sea Kings, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

CdM plays at Newport Harbor in the Battle of the Bay match on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Newport Harbor def. Marina

Clay Carr had 14 kills and two aces as the Sailors swept the Sunset League match, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18, at home on Tuesday night.

Spencer Lujan had six kills and four blocks for Newport Harbor (10-18, 5-5 in league). Wyatt Walton had six kills, three blocks and six digs.

Grady Kimme had eight kills and Landon Monroe tallied 30 assists and six digs for the Sailors.

Newport Harbor plays Edison in a big match at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Huntington Beach High. The Sailors and Chargers finished tied for third in league, so the winner of Wednesday's match earns the tiebreaker and makes the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

The Sea Kings were eliminated from CIF playoff contention after Tuesday's Pacific Coast League loss at home.

Sam Younesi had two hits for CdM (6-17, 4-8 in league). Evan Larsen pitched the complete game, allowing just three hits and striking out seven.

CdM plays at Northwood on Friday.

Laguna Beach 3

LAGUNA BEACH — The visiting Eagles maintained their second-place standing in the Orange Coast League on Tuesday with three league games remaining.

Estancia (14-5, 5-2 in league), visits Godinez on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.


Corona del Mar 11, Northwood 7

IRVINE — Bjorn Hoffmann, Ryan Andrews and Carson Williams all earned singles sweeps in the Sea Kings' Pacific Coast League finale Monday at Northwood High.

Tyler Gaede and Samee Aboubakare won twice in doubles for CdM (15-4, 8-2 in league), which finished second in league behind University.

CdM competes in the league individuals tournament Wednesday and Thursday at University High.


Orange Coast League


LONG BEACH — Estancia's Brad Ehrhorn finished tied for second in league after completing a two-day total of 157 on Tuesday at Skylinks Golf Course.

The Eagles' Gunnar Johnston (159) was fourth, while Estancia's Kobi Uta (160) and Davin Ortiz (161) were fifth and sixth, respectively. Each earned first-team all-league honors.

Daniel Dimaculangan of Calvary Chapel (150) won the title.
