UCI takes down Cal Poly, 11-2

SAN LUIS OBISPO — Mitchell Holland went three for five with one run batted in, while John Brontsema and Adam Alcantara each homered to lead the visiting Anteaters in the Big West Conference game Saturday.

UCI scored five runs in the seventh and Alcantara belted a three-run dinger in the ninth.

Alonzo Garcia earned the victory, allowing one earned run and three hits in 5 1/3 innings for UCI (28-20, 8-9 in conference), which evened the series.

The Mustangs fell to 27-22, 8-9.

The series concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
