Under the big top: Circus Vargas coming back to Burbank

Share

Circus Vargas is returning to Burbank through Feb. 3 with a production titled “The Greatest of Ease,” featuring acrobats, daredevils and a flying trapeze.

The two-hour show, which is Circus Vargas’ 50th anniversary production, will include a steam engine that will transport audiences back in time to enjoy the nostalgia of circuses of the past.

Because of the rains expected to hit the Southland, Circus Vargas will not present its opening night as scheduled on Wednesday , according to circus officials. The local production will open on Thursday night.

The big top is set up at 777 N. Front St., Burbank.

Those who arrive 30 minutes early for each performance can see an interactive preshow, where children can try out circus skills such as juggling and balancing.

Circus Vargas was last in Burbank in April and May, with a show titled “Dreaming of Pirates.”
