A 58-year-old Lawndale man is suspected of stabbing someone in the neck earlier this month at the downtown Burbank Metrolink station.

Bavorick Theus was arrested on Tuesday by Burbank Police Department investigators on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

The arrest comes after someone had stabbed a 51-year-old man in the neck on Jan. 15 and fled from the station.

Theus was eventually identified as a suspect in the stabbing.

Sgt. Derek Green, a department spokesman, said the incident began as a verbal altercation between the two men.

He added both men are transients.

Green previously said it was unknown what sparked the argument between the two and it didn’t appear the men knew each other prior to the stabbing.

The 51-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery and has since been released.

Theus is currently being held on $86,435 bail. Green said bail for the stabbing was set at $30,000, but Theus had several outstanding warrants that raised the total amount.
