South Coast Plaza exhibition honors Henry Segerstrom

Share

To honor its late founder Henry Segerstrom, who died in February, South Coast Plaza is opening an exhibition called “Courage of Imagination.”

Press materials describe it this way: “Through dozens of vintage photographs, archival videos, informative descriptions and a selection of major sculptures by Alexander Calder, Jean Dubuffet and Joan Miró, the exhibition reveals the remarkable story of Henry Segerstrom, beginning with his early years as the child of farmers through his rise to one of Southern California’s most honored civic, business and cultural leaders. By telling this story, the exhibition encapsulates the history of Orange County itself, from a largely rural area into a thriving center of art and commerce.”

The exhibition is to be open Friday to May 31 in a gallery in the Jewel Court, near Macy’s, in the shopping center at 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa.
