Judaism 101

Free Flu Shots

Newport Harbor Lutheran Church and the Hoag Hospital Health Ministries Department will offer free flu vaccine shots at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 798 Dover Drive, Newport Beach. Supplies of the vaccine, for people ages 9and older, are limited.


Craig Alexander, a member of the Orange County Republican Central Committee, will give a talk about stopping the money pipeline from special interests at a meeting of the Corona del Mar Republican Assembly at Coco's Restaurant, 3446 E. Coast Hwy., CdM. A social hour is at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and Alexander's talk at 7 p.m. The event, including dinner, costs $20. Hommage to the Dude Redux

Poster artist Bill Green will be honored at a Kosher reception at 6 p.m. to open the "Across the Sands of Time" exhibit at Orange Coast College, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. The show will exhibit 40 posters from festivals paying tribute to the Coen Brothers film "The Big Lebowski." The reception is in the Student Project Space on the first floor of the OCC Art Center.



The Newport Beach Public Library Foundation presents the last in its Fall 2011 Library Live series of talks. Dr. Stephanie McClellan will talk about how to manage stress. 'Killing Kasztner'
