Brent Read Ells
Loving brother, trusted and loyal friend passed unexpectedly of heart disease November 21, 2011. Born January 14, 1955 to Hugh Alan Ells and Charlene Sherburne Ells, Brent was a life long Newport Mesa resident, attending Newport Heights & Harbor View Elementary schools, Lincoln Junior High, Corona Del Mar High school, Orange Coast College, and graduated from Southern California College. His first job was in the early 1960’s delivering papers in Cliff Haven for the Daily Pilot. Listening to Vin Scully announce Dodgers’ games as he folded papers were some of his fondest memories. As an adult with a keen mind for detail he became a CPA. Family and friends were always very important to him. We all enjoyed his playful nature and wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid reader and enjoyed movies, music (especially the Beatles), baseball and trivia, He loved pets- yours or his! Brent was a very kind man with an inquisitive and bright mind. He easily engaged people in conversation, with vast general knowledge he would draw them out discussing their work or hobbies, never a know it all, but more curious to learn more about the subject and person he was talking to. Brent is predeceased by his parents, and oldest brother, Richard Alan Ells. He is survived by his brother, Donald Sherburne Ells, his sister, Andrea Diane Ells, 1 niece and 2 nephews.
A memorial celebrating Brent’s life will be held December 3, 2011 at 3:30p.m. Needham Chapel, Vanguard University, 55 Fair Dr., Costa Mesa, Ca
