Annual Balboa Island Parade has centennial theme Sunday

Vintage cars will join dancers, musicians, golf carts, floats and more in filling Balboa Island’s Marine Avenue on Sunday morning for the 23rd annual Balboa Island Parade in Newport Beach.

This year’s event was given the theme “100 Years of Sun & Fun” for the centennial celebration of the island’s incorporation into the city.

The bands Big Wednesday and Beatles tribute act Ticket to Ride will perform.

The parade will begin on Marine Avenue at 11 a.m.

The bridge to Balboa Island will close at 10:45 a.m.
