Robert Ralph Lent July 28, 1947 - January 6, 2014

Bob passed peacefully from this life the morning of January 6th with his daughter Ashley and son-in-law, Mike, by his side after his brave and humble battle with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Bob was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, but lived in San Diego, California for most of his life. In 2000, after retiring from the oil industry, Bob decided to move to Playa Potrero in Costa Rica where he lived for the last 13 years.

Bob is survived by: his two daughters, Allison Hatcher and Ashley Lent; his son-in-law, Mike Hatcher; and his one granddaughter, Francesca Jane Hatcher. Bob is also survived by: his sister Cory Smith and brother Duncan Van Lent; and his niece, Courtney Ford and nephews Darnel Smith, Morgan Van Lent, Aaron Smith and Charlie Van Lent.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 2:00 pm. Location: Mariners Church 5001 Newport Coast Drive, Newport Beach, California 92063.
