Jeanne Parquette Wertman

Jeanne Parquette Wertman of Dallas, Texas formerly of Irvine, California passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas on February 5, 2013 at the age of 94. Jeanne was preceded in death by the love of her life husband of 63 years, Howard “Buck” Wertman and her son, Michael Everett Wertman. Jeanne was born December 14, 1918, in Ashland, Ohio. She graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in Physical Education. She taught Physical Education at William and Mary College and Ohio Wesleyan University. While she waited for Buck to return from World War II, she received her pilot’s license and assisted with troop supply transportation within the United States.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter Linda Stricker of Dallas, Texas, daughter-in-law Brooke Wertman Booth of Newport Beach, California, five grandchildren, Mike (Suzanne) Stricker, Chris (Amanda) Stricker, Stacey (Jim) Bodwell, Brett (Michelle) Wertman and Greg (Cristin) Wertman and eight great-grandchildren.
Jeanne enjoyed golf, swimming, bridge and traveling the world. She was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whether in Newport Beach, North Carolina, or Texas.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandparent, and friend. Jeanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her love remains in our hearts forever.
