Ethan Crooks and Cooper Haddad each had three goals for the Huntington Beach High boys’ water polo team in a 10-9 sudden-death overtime loss to Los Angeles Loyola in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 third-place playoff match Saturday at Irvine’s Woollett Aquatics Center.

James Rozalis-Hill, Garrett Lee and Matthew Morgan each scored once for the Oilers (18-10), who rallied from a 7-1 halftime deficit to tie the score at 8-8 on Haddad’s penalty shot with a second left in the fourth quarter.

Goalkeeper Gabriel Haddad made 11 second-half and overtime saves for Huntington Beach, which will play in the CIF State Southern California Regional tournament beginning Friday.
