Corona del Mar football coach Dan O’Shea a finalist for All-American Bowl Coach of the Year

Corona del Mar High football coach Dan O’Shea has been announced as one of four finalists for the All-American Bowl Coach of the Year award.

The All-American Bowl Coach of the Year honors the nation’s top high school coach for exceptional coaching abilities and leadership skills, and acknowledges his role as a positive influence on young Americans on and off the field. The Coach of the Year will be recognized during the 2020 All-American Bowl Awards Show on Friday in San Antonio, Texas.

In his fifth season as head coach, O’Shea led the Sea Kings to an undefeated 16-0 season, the CIF Southern Section Division 3 title and the CIF State Division 1-A championship this year.

The other finalists include Eric Kjar of Corner Canyon High in Draper, Utah; Reginald Samples of Duncanville High in Texas; and Robert Steeples of De Smet Jesuit High in St. Louis, Mo.
