High School Roundup: Pacifica Christian O.C. boys’ basketball reaches Les Schwab Invitational title game

Senior forward Judah Brown finished with 25 points, and the Pacifica Christian Orange County boys’ basketball team beat Portland (Ore.) Sunset 78-59 in the Les Schwab Invitational “The Eight” tournament semifinals on Friday night at Liberty High in Hillsboro, Ore.

Junior point guard Houston Mallette had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Pacifica Christian (11-3).

The Tritons face Mt. Spokane (Wash.) in the tournament title game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Corona del Mar 64, Marina 58: Senior guard Jack Stone scored 27 points in the visiting Sea Kings’ Sunset Conference crossover game on Friday.

Efe Gucoglu added 16 points for CdM (12-4), which hosts Huntington Beach on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Senior guard Ethan Barnella led Marina (9-10) with 18 points. Kylle Magdangal scored 14 for the Vikings, who play at Los Alamitos on Wednesday.

Fountain Valley 40, Edison 30: Junior guard Jeremiah Davis scored 17 points for the visiting Barons in Friday’s Sunset Conference crossover game.

Preston Amarillo added eight points for Fountain Valley (9-5), which hosts Newport Harbor on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Edison (11-8) plays at Laguna Beach on Wednesday.

Costa Mesa 59, Sage Hill 46: Gio Quero scored 15 points for the Mustangs in Friday’s nonleague game at home.

Alec Terry scored 13 points for Costa Mesa (4-13), and Christian Dasca had 12. The Mustangs open Orange Coast League play at home against Orange on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Sage Hill (5-12) hosts JSerra on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Los Alamitos 59, Huntington Beach 41: The Oilers dropped to 5-12 with Friday’s home loss in a Sunset Conference crossover game.

Huntington Beach led 22-21 at halftime.

The Oilers play at Corona del Mar on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Marina 1, Corona del Mar 0: Senior forward Eric Church scored a first-half goal for the host Vikings on Friday in a Sunset Conference crossover match.

Senior goalkeeper Kyle Miller made two saves in keeping the clean sheet for the Vikings (6-4-2), his fourth shutout of the season.

Edison 2, Fountain Valley 2: Kai Peterson and Armand Pigeon each scored a goal for the host Chargers (9-1-2) in Friday’s Sunset Conference crossover match.

Dakota Whitsel and Austin Pennella had the goals for the Barons (2-6-1).

Los Alamitos 1, Huntington Beach 0: The host Oilers (4-5-2) had their two-match winning streak snapped on Friday in a Sunset Conference crossover contest.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Marina 47, Adelanto 24: Greta Graeler had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Vikings in Friday’s game of the Grossmont Tournament.

Kat Robinson added 12 points, including a trio of three-pointers for Marina (4-12).

Los Amigos 47, Century 31: Honey Morales had a team-high 14 points to go with 17 rebounds and six steals to lead the visiting Lobos on Friday in a nonleague game.

Rachel Luciano added 11 points and nine rebounds for Los Amigos (10-7). Marisol Salinas also had six points and eight rebounds.
