Estancia, Laguna, Fountain Valley and Brethren Christian earn top-four seeds in CIF boys’ basketball playoffs

The CIF Southern Section rewarded the Estancia High boys’ basketball team for winning its first league championship since the 2004-05 season.

The Orange Coast League champion Eagles received the No. 2 seed in the Division 5AA playoffs on Sunday, when the section released its postseason pairings.

Estancia (25-3) is one of four local boys’ basketball teams earning a top-four seed in the playoffs. Wave League champion Laguna Beach (20-7) is No. 4 in Division 3AA, Wave League runner-up Fountain Valley (16-8) is No. 3 in Division 3A and Express League runner-up Brethren Christian (18-5) is No. 3 in Division 5A.
