College Roundup: UC Irvine women’s golfer Madison Riggs in fourth at The Gold Rush

UC Irvine women’s golfer Madison Riggs posted consecutive rounds of even-par 72 on Monday in The Gold Rush at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.

Riggs made seven birdies on the day, finishing in fourth place.

The Anteaters are in 10th place as a team. Their two-round total stands at 616.

Play for the final round begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

SOFTBALL

Saddleback 6, Orange Coast 2 (nine innings): Joanna Michaels went three for four in the Pirates’ Orange Empire Conference game at home Monday.

Madison LeClaire had two hits and drove in a run for Orange Coast (2-5, 0-3 in conference). Katherine Sua had a hit and a run batted in.

Jaelyn Operana had a hit and scored a run. She also stole two bases.
