California Team Classic

CLOVIS — Corona del Mar High, seeded No. 5, won the 16-team Division I title with a pair of victories on Saturday at Buchanan High. The Sea Kings topped Mountain View St. Francis, 5-2, in the final after knocking off Cupertino Monta Vista, 4-3, in the semifinal, ending the school’s 57-match win streak..

The CdM doubles duos of Kenzie Purcifell and Kimmia Naaseh, Siena Sharf and Jasie Dunk, as well as Taylor Fogarty and Erica Chen all went 4-0 in the tournament, while singles players Elena Fish (No. 3) and Camellia Edalat (No. 4) won three of four sets.

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Bronco Invitational

POMONA — Leah Van Dyke finished third in 17 minutes, 43 seconds and Erin Barth was fifth to help Newport Harbor High win the team title on Saturday at Cal Poly Pomona.

Barth’s time was 18:02. Holly Clemence (16th in 18:53) and Grace Clemence (17th in 18:56) also stood out for the Tars.

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Bronco Invitational

POMONA — Newport Harbor High finished seventh, led by Connor DiPaolo, who was 15th in 15 minutes, 48 seconds on Saturday at Cal Poly Pomona.

Marcell DeBarros was 17th in 15:51 and Brian Shaw was 29th in 16:25 for the Tars.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Edison tournament

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Estancia High won one of three matches in its flight at the First Serve Tournament on Saturday at Edison High.

The Eagles defeated Capistrano Valley Christian, 6-0, and fell to Orcutt Academy, 5-1, and Edison, 5-1.

Slade Garnett (singles) and the doubles tandem of Mai Le and Lauren Weiser each won sets in the team losses.
