Charlie Stassel scored 18 points to lead the Sailors in the first-round game of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs Friday.

Joey Faris added 11 points for Newport Harbor (11-18).

CIF Southern Section Southern Division Individuals

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Carlos Lopez (152-pound weight class), John Kinnear (160), Brett Beaudette (182) and Drew Dobbs (195) moved on to the second day of competition Friday at Marina High.

Michael Craft (106), Alain Ward (113), Erik Herrera (132), Dominic Komadina (138), Harrison Reich (145), David Santos (220) and Valdemar Gomez (285) had qualified for the tournament, but did not move on to the second day.
