Senior Christina Arechigo provided the assists. Newport Harbor didn’t have any substitutes and also called up players from junior varsity and frosh-soph, including Garfias, as several varsity players were ineligible due to club soccer commitments.

The Sailors competed with 10 players during the final 30 minutes after senior Jessi Prather was injured. And, for the final 10 minutes, Newport Harbor played with nine players because of another player who was sidelined. But the Sailors defense stepped up, led by seniors Rosalie Deliz and Steffani Nava and juniors Brooke Zachry and Melissa Camano.
