Key Eagles: Jr. RB Trevor Pacheco (20 carries for 125 yards, one TD); Jr. WR/CB Nathan Guyot (nine catches for 95 yards, one TD); Sr. LB/WR Hunter Mensinger (one INT).
Key Golden Hawks: Sr. QB Jack Strouse (11 for 30 passing for 110 yards, one TD, two INTs; one rushing TD); Sr. FS/RB Chris Hertl (one INT); Sr. WR/CB Jared Nitzel (three catches for 41 yards).
Breakdown: Estancia (0-1) looks to bounce back from last week’s season-opening 39-19 upset road loss to Loara … El Dorado (0-1) also lost its opener last Friday, 66-21 at El Toro … Eagles were hurt by penalties in loss to Loara, committing 13 for 115 yards … Play of Guyot, the younger brother of former Estancia girls’ soccer standouts Gianna and Delani Guyot, was a highlight at receiver as he made a couple of tough catches, including one off a deflection … El Dorado went just 3-7 last season, but one of the wins was a 43-13 victory against Estancia in Week 2 … Estancia is trying to avoid its first 0-2 start since 2007, which was current coach Mike Bargas’ first season in charge.
