High School Girls’ Soccer Roundup: Corona del Mar shuts out Yorba Linda

Avery Doherty, Elizabeth Lamie, Ashley Maloney and Sara Neiger all scored as the Corona del Mar High girls’ soccer team beat visiting Yorba Linda 4-0 in a nonleague game Tuesday.

Ava McKenzie had a pair of assists for the Sea Kings (2-1), while Megan Chelf and Celeste Wayne also had assists.

Giovanna Broderick made three saves and Shannon Duss made a save for CdM, which plays at Fountain Valley on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Sage Hill 2, Cerritos Valley Christian 1

Senior Taylor Magliarditi had a first-half goal for the host Lightning in Tuesday’s nonleague game.

Junior Karli Davis’ free kick turned into an own goal for Sage Hill, which improved to 2-1. Freshman Ava Cooper assisted Magliarditi’s goal.

Sophomore goalie Nicole Motherway made four saves in the first half for the Lightning, and junior goalie Michelle Hung made 10 saves in the second half.

Canyon 2, Newport Harbor 1

Skylynn Rodriguez scored on a penalty kick for the Sailors in Tuesday’s nonleague game at home.

The Sailors (1-2) play host to Mission Viejo on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Pacifica Christian Orange County 2, Santa Monica New Roads 1

Freshmen Marrisa Davidson and Casie Carlson scored for the Tritons in Monday’s nonleague game on the road.

Davidson and sophomore Brooklyn Motske each had assists for Pacifica Christian (3-0), which got seven saves from freshman goalie Jo Snider.

Pacifica Christian plays at Whittier Christian on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
