High School Roundup: Local girls’ volleyball teams play on in Ann Kang Invitational

Edison High’s girls’ volleyball team went 4-2 through the first two days of the Ann Kang Invitational at Honolulu Iolani School, positioning itself for a possible semifinals bid.

The Chargers opened Saturday’s action with a 25-16, 25-19 loss to the host school. Their next scheduled match is against Fort Worth Boswell (TX).

Sage Hill went 1-1 on the tournament’s final day, posting a 25-23, 28-26 win over Honolulu Damien. The Lightning leave Hawai’i with a record of 2-6.

Newport Harbor dropped its first match of the day against Boswell by a score of 25-18, 25-21. The Sailors later lost to Kapolei (HI), sending Newport Harbor to a 14th-place finish and a 1-7 record.

Siena Springborn had 11 kills across the Sailors’ two matches on Saturday.
