High School Roundup: Four advance to CIF for Ocean View wrestling

The Ocean View High wrestling team qualified four athletes for the CIF Southern Section Individual wrestling championships on Saturday in the Golden West League finals at Western High.

Lupe Garcia was the 145-pound girls’ champion, delivering a victory by technical fall in the final.

Robby Wilke (113, third), Rusty Clarke (126, third) and Jason Nguyen (182, second) were the other qualifiers for the Seahawks.

Raxel Ortiz (120) and John Martinez (152) have been designated as alternates.

Ocean View will compete in the Central Division of the CIF Individual wrestling championships at Palm Springs High next Friday and Saturday.
