CdM trio earns All-Pacific Coast League boys’ soccer honors

Corona del Mar High senior goalkeeper Campbell Sheppard, junior defender Matt Katz and senior defender Rhyan Phan made the All-Pacific Coast League first team in boys’ soccer during the 2017-18 season.

The trio led the Sea Kings (14-6-1, 7-3-0 in league) to a runner-up finish in the league and the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. CdM’s season ended with a 3-1 loss on the road to Santa Ana in the first round.

Katz is a two-time first-team selection.

CdM junior forward Niko Urban and senior midfielder Christian Marion were on the second team.

University junior forward Sebastian Hertel was named the Pacific Coast League Offensive MVP and University senior Zach Howard the Defensive MVP. University won the league title.
