Beau Attyah Corona del Mar

The catcher proved to be a consistent force on defense and also provided a punch on offense. With his 3.7 grade-point average, he helped the baseball team earn a CIF Southern Section Academic Team Award. He holds the school record for catching every game of the season for the 2009 season (29 games). He will continue on at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Max Bergeson Corona del Mar

The two-time Daily Pilot Dream Team Player of the Year was a star in water polo during his three years at CdM. He scored 256 goals, 93 in his senior season and was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Year the past two seasons. Bound for UC Berkeley, he was a three-time All-CIF Southern Section Division I first-team selection.

Marisa Cummings Corona del Mar

The cross country and track standout, bound for Princeton, helped CdM win back-to-back state titles in cross country. As a senior, the valedictorian finished 13th in the state for CIF Division III in the fall. In the spring, she finished second in the 3,200 meters for CIF Southern Section Division III to qualify for the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet.

Hailey Hogan Corona del Mar

The tennis standout, bound for Johns Hopkins University, reached the CIF Southern Section doubles final with teammate Melissa Matsuoka. They won the Pacific Coast League doubles title and were 11-0 in league play. As a freshman, she helped the Sea Kings win the CIF Southern Section Division I championship. As a junior the CdM girls' tennis team reached the Division I title match.

Victoria Kent Corona del Mar

The aquatics standout, bound for UCLA to play water polo, helped the Sea Kings win four straight Pacific Coast League titles in water polo. As a senior, she was a first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division I honoree. The 3.5 grade-point average student helped CdM reach the CIF Division I title match two straight years as a sophomore and junior.

Michael Liao Corona del Mar

The aquatics standout, a 4.0 GPA-student bound for MIT, was named Co-MVP of the Pacific Coast League in water polo. As a senior, he helped the Sea Kings win their 11th straight league title in water polo. In the spring, he won the CIF Southern Section Division I title in the 100-yard breaststroke and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team.

Alex Mainthow Corona del Mar

The 3.9-GPA student, bound for UC Santa Barbara, excelled in soccer and lacrosse. His leadership and defense helped the Sea Kings win the CIF Southern Section Division IV title and the CIF Division II Southern California Regional championship in soccer. He also helped the soccer and lacrosse teams win league titles and the lacrosse team reach the county title match.

Melissa Matsuoka Corona del Mar

The 4.36 GPA-student, bound for Dartmouth to play tennis, was named a High School All-American in her senior year. She reached the CIF Southern Section doubles title match with teammate Hailey Hogan. She was a Pacific Coast League champion as a freshman and a doubles champion three straight years. She was a part of CdM's Division I championship team as a freshman.

Ryan Mix Corona del Mar

The lacrosse standout, bound for the University of Notre Dame, was named MVP of the Pacific Coast League, after leading the Sea Kings to their second straight title. He was also named Orange County Player of the Year, as he led CdM with 80 goals. He led the Sea Kings to the U.S. Lacrosse Orange County Southern Section Division I championship game twice.

Weston Nielsen Corona del Mar

The volleyball standout is bound for UC Santa Barbara, where he will join his brother, Blaine. As a senior, Weston led the Sea Kings to the Pacific Coast League title a semifinals appearance in the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs. As part of the United States youth national team he was named MVP at an international tournament.

Melanie Powers Corona del Mar

The cross country and track standout is bound for Wake Forest. The four-year varsity performer led the Sea Kings to two straight state titles in cross country. As a senior she finished third in the state in CIF Division III. She also won the Stanford Invitational. She finished third in the 3,200 meters in CIF Southern Section Division III.

Madison Smith Corona del Mar

The UCLA-bound volleyball standout led the Sea Kings to four straight Pacific Coast League titles, and two straight appearances in the CIF Southern Section Division II-AA championship match and CIF State Southern California Regional Division II final. She was a two-time first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division II-AA selection. She was a league player of the year twice.

Alex Swigert Corona del Mar

The three-sport athlete, who stood out in football, will attend UC Santa Barbara in the fall. He also excelled in lacrosse and track and field. As a senior, he was the captain of the football team and was selected to play in the Orange County North-South All-Star Game. He was also named to the Daily Pilot Dream Team and was CdM's MVP.

Sebastien Welch Corona del Mar

The cross county and track standout, who also played soccer his senior season, will continue on at UC Berkeley. As a junior, he was the Pacific Coast League champion in the 1,600 meters. As a senior, he was a captain of the cross country and track and field teams. A 4.4 GPA-student, he was named CdM's CIF Southern Section Academic Athlete of the Year.

Reed Williams Corona del Mar

The soccer star, bound for UCLA, was named Gatorade Player of the Year after a stellar senior season. He recorded 32 goals and 12 assists to lead the Sea Kings to the CIF Southern Section Division IV title and the CIF Southern California Division II Regional championship, both firsts for the program. He was also named Division IV Offensive Player of the Year.

Austin Bagby Newport Harbor

The basketball standout also excelled in volleyball and baseball during his four years. As a senior, he was named MVP of the basketball team and earned second-team All-Sunset League honors. He also helped the volleyball team reach the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs. He will attend Orange Coast College in the fall.

Kristin Burger Newport Harbor

The USC-bound standout goalie for the water polo team also competed in swimming. She helped the Sailors reach the CIF Southern Section Division I title match. She earned third-team All-CIF Division I honors. A Daily Pilot Athlete of the Week, she was also named to the All-Sunset League first team as a senior, recording 204 saves and 14 steals.

Kirby Burnham Newport Harbor

The volleyball standout, bound for USC, was named the CIF State Division I final MVP after leading the Sailors to the championship. Newport also won the Sunset League and CIF Southern Section I titles. She was a first-team selection for both. The outside hitter, who also competed in track and field, was a two-time Daily Pilot Dream Team selection in volleyball.

Elizabeth Eddy Newport Harbor

The soccer standout, bound for USC, is a member of the U.S. women's under-20 team. She helped that team to the CONCACAF Championship crown as a senior. As a junior, she was selected as a Parade All-American. The 3.7-GPA student also competed in surfing and track and field, helping the surf team to a state title.

Dillan Freiberg Newport Harbor

The three-sport athlete, who stood out as a kicker on the football team, will play for the University of Colorado. He made 71 straight extra-point kicks, the second longest streak in Orange County history. He also competed for the soccer team. As a senior, he sustained a fractured left fibula, but came back to help the baseball team reach the CIF playoffs.

Kaleigh Gilchrist Newport Harbor

The water polo standout, bound for USC, helped the Sailors reach the CIF Southern Section Division I title match. She scored a team-high 94 goals. She was named Co-MVP of the Sunset League after leading the Sailors to the league title and earned first-team All-CIF Division I honors. She also starred as a surfer and helped Newport win a state title.

Blake Kelly Newport Harbor

The aquatics standout, bound for UC Berkeley to play water polo, was named Sunset League Player of the Year in water polo after leading the Sailors to a league title. He also earned first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division I honors, as he led Newport to the title game. In swimming, he was a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that set an Orange County record.

Kate Klippert Newport Harbor

The aquatics standout will play water polo at UC Berkeley. She helped the water polo team to the CIF Southern Section Division I title game. She also earned first-team All-CIF Division and first-team All-Sunset League honors. A Daily Pilot Athlete of the Week, she also excelled in swimming. As a junior she held three school records in swimming.

Robert Lucas Newport Harbor

Lucas, a water polo standout who also excelled in swimming, will play water polo at USC. As a senior, he was a first-team All-CIF Division I performer, as he helped the Sailors reach the title game. He was a second-team All-CIF Division I player as a junior and he was named to the All-Sunset League first team twice. He led the Sailors with 77 steals and 56 assists.

Lauren Rojas Newport Harbor

Rojas, who excelled in field hockey and lacrosse, will attend Brown University in the fall. She helped the field hockey team win two straight Los Angeles Field Hockey Assn. Tournament of Champions titles. A team captain, and a 4.29 GPA-student, she was named to the All-Sunset League second team as a senior and a junior.

Matt Russell Newport Harbor

The aquatics standout will continue to play water polo at UC Berkeley. As a senior in water polo he earned second-team All-CIF Southern Section Division I honors, as he helped the Sailors reach the CIF Division I title game. He was also part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that set and Orange County record.

Jake Taylor Newport Harbor

The two-sport standout, who excelled in football and track and field, will compete as a thrower at Princeton. As a senior in football, he was named Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year of the Sunset League. He was also named to the Daily Pilot Dream Team. In the spring, he finished fourth in the shot put in CIF Southern Section Division II.

Katey Thompson Newport Harbor

The two-time Daily Pilot Dream Team Player of the Year in volleyball will play at UC Santa Barbara. She was named Co-MVP of the Sunset League, as she led the Sailors to the league title, as well as CIF Southern Section Division I and CIF State Division I crowns. Thompson, who also competed in basketball and track and field, was named to the first team in CIF and State.

Cecil Whiteside Newport Harbor

The Daily Pilot Dream Team Player of the Year in football will play for UC Berkeley. The four-year starter, who also competed in track and field, baseball and basketball, was named to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the Orange County All-Star game. He was a two-time CIF Southern Section Masters champion in the discus and finished third in the state as a junior.

John Yeager Newport Harbor

The 3.9 GPA-student, who excelled in swimming and water polo, will play water polo at UC Berkeley. He helped the water polo team reach the CIF Southern Section Division I final and earned first-team honors. In swimming, he was a CIF Division I champion in the 50-yard freestyle and was part of the 200 medley relay team that set a county record.
