Jones, Metcalfe earn volleyball honors

Estancia High senior outside hitter Kohl Jones and Costa Mesa senior outside hitter Connor Metcalfe were both named first-team All-Orange Coast League selections for boys' volleyball by league coaches.

Season statistics were not available, but Estancia Coach Paul Muñoz said Jones had 10 matches in which he was in double-digit kills, and five matches in which he recorded double-digit digs.

Estancia senior setter Tyler Sullivan was the lone local to earn second-team honors. Sullivan had 12 matches of at least 30 assists, Muñoz said.

Estancia (Munoz) and Costa Mesa (Beau Peters) were each guided by first-year coaches. They finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the five-team league won by Laguna Beach.

Seniors Travis Woloson and Scottie Chapel shared the league MVP award for the Breakers, who went on to win CIF Southern Section Division II and Southern California Regional titles
