Green Chargers start strong

Share

The Huntington Beach Green Chargers opened the 2010 Pop Warner football season Saturday with a dominating performance, shutting out the Lakewood Black Lancers, 19-0, in Jr. Pee Wee Division action.

Huntington wasted little time in taking command as fullback Chase Ault scored on a 45-yard run on the first play from scrimmage. The Green Chargers struck again after using some bullish running by fullback Cameron Gonzales and crisp passing by quarterback Griffin O’Connor. The drive ended on another touchdown run by Ault. Split end Kyle Drinnon then broke a tackle to take in the conversion pass.

The Green Chargers scored their final touchdown when O’Connor and EJ Ginnis connected on a 40-yard pass play.
