Borquez delivers

Newport Beach resident Ryan Borquez pitched a no-hitter for the Bat Rays 10-and-under club baseball team Aug. 21 in San Clemente.

Borquez, 9, the youngest player on the team, threw 64 pitches in six innings, walking one and hitting one batter in a 4-0 victory over the San Clemente Tritons.

Alex Rosen and Tyler Flood both went two for three with one run batted in and one run scored for the Bat Rays.
