Dave Mohs Tournament

NEWPORT BEACH — Alex Holbrook recorded 16 kills to help lead Newport Harbor High to best-of-three victories over Upland and Centennial of Bakersfield in pool play Friday at Newport Harbor.

Sarah Buckingham led the Sailors with seven kills in a 23-25, 25-21, 15-7 win over Upland. Holbrook had seven kills and four blocks, while Tori Thompson had 15 assists and seven digs and Hunter Jennings had eight digs

Maddy Brown had seven kills in the Tars' 25-21, 26-24 win over Centennial. Cinnamon Sary had 19 assists and Lauren Demos had six blocks for the Sailors, who continue pool play today against Mission Viejo at 9 a.m. at Newport Harbor. The top two teams from each pool advance to bracket play at Edison. The final is Monday night at Edison.

CORONA DEL MAR — Hailey Senske recorded 11 kills to help lead Corona del Mar High to pool-play wins over Chaparral and Carlsbad Friday.

Mary McKennon five kills and six digs and Kelsey Humphreys had 12 assists in the Sea Kings' 25-14, 25-19 victory over Chaparral.

Morgan Boukather had five kills in CdM's 25-11, 25-15 win over Carlsbad. Humphreys had 12 assists and Caitlin Baker had eight digs.

The Sea Kings continue pool play today against San Clemente at 9 a.m. at CdM.

COSTA MESA — Senior Charlie Umansky scored seven goals to pace the host Eagles in the nonleague game Friday.

Derek Andrews and Asher Twardowsky had three goals apiece and senior goalie Connor Graham had 14 saves for Estancia (2-0).

The Eagles play host to Garden Grove on Wednesday.

COSTA MESA — The Sailors dominated with 21 shots on goal to none for the visitors in the nonleague game at Harper Park Thursday.

Mary Yeager, Stephanie Storch, Megan Case, Allie Pantoskey and Emily Brown scored for Newport Harbor (4-0), with assists coming from Taylor Cordeiro (2), Yeager, Storch, and Emily Mitchell.
