COSTA MESA — Kallie Ryker scored twice to pace the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference contest Tuesday.

Ryker scored in the fourth minute and the 45th minute, while Emily Mizrani added a goal and an assist for OCC (4-2-1, 3-0 in conference).

Taryn Bales and Kayla Albin also had assists for OCC.

Fullerton is 1-5-1, 1-2.

COSTA MESA — After the host Pirates saw their 2-0 lead disappear, David Casty converted an assist from Steven Lujan in the 79th minute for the game-winner in a nonconference clash Tuesday.

Rony Epelbaum and Luis Salgado each scored early on assists by Christian Huerta to put the Pirates (2-4) up.

But the visitors tied it in the 35th minute.

Alan Vilchez had nine saves for OCC.

San Bernardino Valley is 2-5-2.

IRVINE — Senior outside hitter Kari Pestolesi led the Anteaters with nine kills and 14 digs in a 25-16, 25-18, 25-11 nonconference loss to visiting USC Tuesday at the Bren Events Center.

UCI (4-8) hit .138 as a team, while No. 6-ranked USC (11-0) hit .366.

USC freshman Kirby Burnham, a Newport Harbor High product, had two kills.

RIVERSIDE — Jamie Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had 10 kills to pace the Lions in their 31-29, 25-21, 25-15 Golden State Athletic Conference setback Tuesday.

The host Lancers, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA, improved to 18-0, 5-0 in conference.

Vanguard, which received nine kills each from KaUwila Lavea and Lisa Morgan, as well as 16 digs from Ariel Strickler, is now 10-4, 2-3.

BURLINGTON, Iowa — UC Irvine finished 11th in the 15-team event completed Tuesday at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.

Senior Max Greil topped the Anteaters, finishing 37th individually with a 54-hole total of five-over-par 221. Senior Bryan Harris (43rd at 223) and sophomore Mickey Chan (51st at 225) also represented UC Irvine.

Iowa won the team title at 31-under-par 833, while the Hawkeyes’ Chris Brant and Vince India tied for first individually at 10-under 206.

UCI had a three-round team score of 884.
